Our Oak Finger Joint Steps Cladding – Essential Range is an entry-level stair cladding system designed to fit over your existing stairs, giving them a refreshed oak finish without the need for a full replacement. The treads are made from finger-jointed oak, with the finger joint deliberately left visible, creating a distinctive, natural pattern that highlights the character of real timber while still delivering a smart overall result.
The Oak Finger Joint Tread Extension with Wooden Joint – Essential Range is designed to extend the depth of standard stair cladding treads, making it possible to create bespoke step layouts such as landings, winder treads, and kite treads. This extension slots neatly into the back of a compatible grooved tread, increasing the overall tread depth so larger or shaped steps can be clad accurately and neatly.
Manufactured from certified oak using finger joint technology, this component makes efficient use of timber while providing good straightness and dimensional stability. It is intended to be used as part of the Essential Range stair cladding system, working alongside matching grooved treads and landing components.
Supplied unfinished, ready to be finished with oil, lacquer, or wax to match your staircase. As with finger jointed oak, some colour variation may be visible and is a normal characteristic of the material.
The extension is designed to slot into the rear groove of a compatible Essential Range tread using the integrated wooden joint. Once positioned, it is typically secured with adhesive as part of a stair cladding or retrofit installation.
